What is ka02 report writing?
A KA02 is the knowledge assessment report used by Engineering New Zealand to assess engineers whose qualification is not accredited under the Washington Accord. It demonstrates your engineering knowledge profile through documented practice examples, and is New Zealand's counterpart to the Australian CDR.

They are not interchangeable. A CDR submitted to Engineering New Zealand does not meet the requirement, and vice versa.
Applying to both countries
Many engineers keep both options open. The underlying project material overlaps substantially, so if you already hold a CDR the marginal effort of a KA02 is much smaller than starting from scratch — the knowledge profile has to be built, but the practice examples can be developed from the same projects. We discount the second report when both are prepared together.

What is a KA02 report?

Is a KA02 the same as a CDR?
No. A CDR is assessed by Engineers Australia against the Stage 1 competency standard through three career episodes. A KA02 is assessed by Engineering New Zealand against the graduate attribute profile through a knowledge profile and practice examples.
Can I use my CDR for a New Zealand assessment?
Not directly. The projects can be reused as source material, but the report must be restructured to the KA02 requirements. We prepare both together at a discount when clients want to keep both countries open.
How long does a KA02 take to write?
